Whether by himself or backed by a killer crew of musicians, there is no question that Mr. Mosbacher is truly a “Jack” of all trades!
Fresh off a huge performance at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA and the release of his latest work - an album entitled Sunny Songs for Shady People - The Bi-coastal ballad singer is headed straight for the stars. We were there to take in the magical evening in Northern California, and what a treat it was to soak in the glow of this tenor’s gorgeous vocals. Equal parts soul, broadway, folk rock, it would be difficult to bottle Mosbacher in one style or categorize him as an artist whose niche lies squarely in one genre - it’s simply not the case.
The 25 year old Political Science student from Stanford University grew up living out on the west coast, but is currently NYC-based, spending his time acting, writing, researching, and playing baseball when he’s not blowing the crowds away at his packed showcases. The crooner highlights Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, and Wall of Sound as just a few of his vocal influences, and upon hearing his soulful sing, I concur - he has both the talent and writing capabilities to back up these big name drops. His brand is only made more likable by the way he uses grassroots marketing to bring his tunes to the masses - his no-nonsense/no-funny games feeling - and I say this as a fan, not a reviewer - only makes me like him more, and want to support his good spirited songs as he continues on with his next musical endeavors.
I’m sure I’ve built up quite the expectations for Mr. Mosbacher, so take a peek at the videos below taken from his aforementioned showcase and see for yourself the talent that abounds!
